Creating "advertising artwork" for your vinyl vehicle graphic wraps.
The larger the print, the better quality it has to be. Not everyone can create quality artwork for vinyl vehicle graphics. Large format printing for vans graphics, trailer graphics and box truck fleet graphics are the most challenging. The quality of the original photos have to be excellent, the resolution has to be high, and the size has to be correct. Even though most will see your vinyl vehicle graphics from afar, many will see it close up as well, so they need to be sharp and interesting to look at, like a piece of artwork. That's why time is taken to do such a good job on the retouching.

Never just throw a "pic" on your vans, trailers or truck fleets.
To save money from hiring a photographer, stock photos can't be beat. There are thousand of images to choose from, all professionally photographed and ready to use. Of course they need a little work to personalize them to your vehicle, but there's no better, faster or more affordable way to attract attention and look professional. For this image, you can see that the clothing color was changed, and the logo on the cap was curved to make it look realistic.

The first image was the right content and shape but was not ready to use as is. The wrench isn't clean enough and the thin white PVC pipes were too light to be seen on a white van. So the they were retouched. Now the image is ready to be printed on adhesive vinyl and installed on their vehicles.

Too many food images on trucks and trailers were not ready to be printed.
The goal of retouching is to always to make images more interesting to look at. And in this case, more mouth watering. Especially when it is going to be printed large on the side of a food truck or trailer. The pizza shot that the client wanted to use was burnt in areas and wasn't round enough. These areas need retouching before going to print for this client's food trailer.

When an image like a vehicle needs retouching, the obvious work that needs to be done is keeping the tires round and looking realistic and deleting the backgrounds that appear through the glass. Notice these two areas and how much better it looks. Placing the logo on the door in the right perspective was also a nice addition. Now it's ready to be printed and installed on the client's trucks.

Images for vehicle graphics are either photographed in high resolution or carefully chosen and purchased from a stock photo website. Either way, all images need retouching. Notice all scratches and bad highlights have been eliminated and a new shadow created.
